Course Description
Marching Band registration is part of summer school registration.  Members of the Marching Band will receive
training and application experiences in concert band performance techniques, pep band performance techniques,
parade marching techniques, and field show marching techniques.

Marching Band members are required to attend sectionals, memorize drill, and music, and participate in all
rehearsals, parades, field shows, and home football games. Students are also required to purchase a lyre, shoes,
and gloves. In addition, they are required to keep their instruments in top working condition and are responsible for
music, drill charts, and uniform cleaning which goes beyond normal wear and tear.

A typical season for Marching Band includes, but is not limited to the following activities:
  • End of year mini camp 4 Hours
  • Summer Camp (10 days @ 8 hours apiece) 80 Hours
  • Ten evening rehearsals @ 3 hours apiece 30 Hours

  • Homecoming parade 2.5 Hours
  • Assorted Marching Band Festivals 8-16 Hours
  • North Prairie Harvest Fest Parade with rehearsal 4 Hours
